The Band
Brass Routes is an 8 or 9 piece soul/Motown band whose members are based around the Greater Manchester area. The lineup is Graham lead singer : Paul drums : Gavin bass guitar : Jules lead guitar : Bob (me) Hammond organ/piano : Tony saxophones/vocals : Jill tenor saxophone/vocals : Nigel trumpet (and Adam occasionally on saxophone).
The band plays all the standard 60s soul songs (James Brown/Wilson Picket/Otis Redding etc) and Motown (My Girl/Heatwave etc) and some made famous by the Blues Brothers, as well as some favourites such as Let's work Together and Gimme some Loving.
Unfortunately as at May 2016 it seems that the band is falling apart because of the difficulty of getting 8 or 9 people together at one time for gigs.
The dreaded "Mustang Sally".
